Welcome to the Saxe Pt. Park Eagles thread for the 2017/2018 season. This thread is for observations, photos, videos and discussion of the eagles who inhabit this nest in Saxe Pt. Park within the Municipality of Esquimalt. These eagles also spend time at the other end of Munro Street at Fleming Beach/Buxton Green and Macaulay Point. These eagles produced 2 eaglets this past season but sadly one passed away in the nest in early June. Info and photos of this eagle family can be found on the previous thread here. Please feel welcome to post your photos and observations of the Saxe Pt. Park eagles when you visit their nest area.

Took a friend's dog for a walk through the park on Friday. No eagles yet.

I spent some time in the park this afternoon hoping to see an eagle (or two). No luck around the nest tree area or on that side of the park. As I was walking across the grass field to the other side of the park I spotted an eagle in the distance, flying towards the boat ramp. I stopped there after I left the park but didn't see it. I managed to get one photo before it disappeared behind the trees.

A few weeks ago we saw both Saxe Point eagles on a rock outcropping off shore. One had just caught a fish and was not into sharing with the partner who looked on and waited patiently for a piece that was not forthcoming. I did have my camera that beautiful sunny day but I have not uploaded any pictures yet.

I was in the park for a short while on Dec. 14th. I did not see or hear the eagles but took a photo of their nest, and I can see a few new sticks.

I took advantage of a break in our crazy weather this afternoon and went to the park to see if the eagles were around. No eagles were seen or heard anywhere but I sure saw and heard the rain and wind that came up all of a sudden Oh My. I didn't see any new sticks in the nest.
