They've had two chicks the two years we've watched - so I suppose that is the most likely number. But with their well-hidden nest bowl, I think we'll have to wait and see!
If there's a second egg - and if it was laid three days after the first (which is most common), today would be day 34 for the second egg, and given that the first egg hatched on day 37, I'd expect the second to hatch on day 35 or 36 - so probably tomorrow or Saturday. How's that for a whole lot of guesswork?
And I think the chick had a bit of a feeding at 1:00 (it's taking me a long time to do video - I'm afraid I'll have to go back to s'caps once my vacation is over). Not sure if it was the first feeding, but I haven't seen another one, and the timing seems right.

Congratulations Lake Washington! JudyB, Thank you for the precious videos. Your s'caps are winners too.

Nice feeding going on - I'm not going to try for pictures as I'm only seeing the top of the little one's head, so the pics would look a whole lot like the ones from yesterday. Still only one - I thought for a moment I saw a second one, then realized it was Mom's foot.

8:50 am
There are two!
Just watched a nice feeding - one of them did seem to get most of the food, but the other was upright and not too bobble-y, so perhaps he hatched overnight.
Two Chicks at Lake Washington! (4 minutes)
10:24 am
Another feeding - but this time both chicks are staying down in the nest bowl so I'm just seeing the tops of their heads.
