Hi Nightowl and Cococat wave

I managed to snap this early this morning like 5:35 AM PDT when I got up to see why my dogs were up and barking.....computer room consists of the dogs bedroom and the media room....so after I checked out and realized everything was okay and someone had walked by our window to their car to go to work I brought up the Africam just to see if I could get a different scape of just Emoyeni sitting on the nest brooding all the time and never see Thulane but got lucky once or twice recently and I saw this and snapped it fast....I realize Thulane comes to the nest around 2 to 3 PM African time to bring Emoyeni something to eat.....but its too early for me to catch it because I usually sleep to 7AM PDT Sleepy yawn

Click on image to download both Black Eagles on the cliff nest....thanks for a late lunch for Emoyeni... Thulane.....scape taken at African time 2:35PM

Thanks for the s'cap Judy!

I'm not sure what Thulane is bringing Emoyeni, but it isn't food. This is from Black Eagle Roodekrans website..."During incubation the adult birds will eat away from the nest so as not to damage the eggs. Prey should be brought to the nest a few days before hatching." Hatching isn't due till towards the end of this month or early June.

2:00-3:00PM CAT is around 7:00-8:00 AM my time, and I usually watch then, and there's nothing consistent so far...I rarely see Thulane at the nest during those hours, and when I do, it's just to take his turn at incubating and giving Emoyeni a break to hunt.

I'm not sure which one this is...one flew off a few minutes ago, and I'm not sure if this is the same one as before. :dunno:

2:38PM CAT I didn't realize it till I looked at my s'cap, but there's the nictitating membrane covering their right eye as they look up...
