Hello All...sorry been gone so long...just went back a little way on the posts....So sorry to hear about Ralph Carolyn....tears apiece out of your heart for sure....hope the fun memories are beginning to flood to the front. Your poem sums him up better than anything!

Bev...was at an art festival nearby and was amazed to a painter with paintings and photos of Peggy's Cove Smile

Just checked in on White Rock and only see one eaglet wingersizing...I am guessing the other has fledged but will continue to watch. Maybe the parents will show up for a feeding Smile Been a bit of a lost season for me this year...will be anxiously awaiting next February Smile

After 6 weeks of intense round the clock study....I have passed my boards! I have read at least 4 books in 2 weeks now that I can enjoy life again for the first time in 4 years. I also admit I have spent hours just staring at my backyard during the day...and the sky and stars at night...life is good.

As usual...the pictures were gorgeous from everyone...thanks to all for those. Almost forgot about Phoebe...actually haven't been near my computer since graduation due to studying so I'm going to be checking it out now...she's sooo pretty!

Congratulations Cecelia!

Thanks Bev, Donna and Carolyn. Glad you liked the pictures.

Bev, the picture of Phoebe feeding her hummers is precious!!! Great capture!

I captured a priceless picture of two of the chicks at Hellgate. Dad was missing most of the day yesterday and food was scarce till he showed up late last night. Certainly not the case today with all the huge fish he brought them. Look at these two! Rolling on floor laughing

Boy do they have full tummies! That almost looks uncomfortable.
Phoebe's little ones look like they barely fill the nest...the background net is a great idea to stop those bigger birds from getting to them!
White Rock looks totally empty today:cry1: I feel like I missed the season this year

Still too hot here to go out Mad Would love to at least go to a local state park beach...but hubby's asthma has been acting up in this heat and humidity so we are more or less trapped at home watching movies for now...surely this heat will break soon! Wish Britain could send some of their rain here. Did go another local art fair and purchased a pottery type plate and vase from the cutest local girl...special ordered an item to pick up at the local farmer's market in a few weeks. The plate is reminiscent of Van Gogh's Starry Night painting.

Stay cool everyone!

Just a quick plop.

Wanted to let you all know I'm gonna be a GRANDMOM againlove. My Son Charlie and his wife Jessica are expecting a bundle of joy in JanuaryCloud 9. I've know for a while, but they wanted to wait until 3 months to tell everyone. They have just posted it on Facebook, so guess it's not a secret any longer! They will be awesome parents. We'll find out in a few weeks if I will finally get a girl on the 8th try. I currently have 7 GRANDSONS. But I sure do love those boysWub. I had Jameson this afternooon for a couple of hours. He is such a loveRed Heart. I really enjoy those short periods of keeping him twice a week. I talked and he just studied my face and smiled. I really think he understood what I was saying. Mostly "I Love you" He will be 8 weeks old Thursday. Bonding is wonderful.

Bedtime, so I'll try to post again soon. Love reading what all of you are doing, but just don't have time right now to reply to all of it.

Love ya'll.

Good Morning...

Gee... it's been 5 days since I have been here. Dennis did not have to work this past Sat. so we got an early start on the house/deck. We first had to repair the 'seal plate' on the house. Kind of a big job if you have a man around to ask he might agree. But Dennis did a great job, it took all day Sat. till 6:30 then we called it an day. It was HOT too. Sunday we had to put the vynil siding back on the house. We did our own siding years ago. It is easy to install but to put it back up is horrible. Hard to explain but take my word for it.

We finally put our order into Home Depot for a delivery of 100... 2x6x16 ft boards. Way too many to haul to the house ourselves. We have already sunk 15 4x4's posts and have about 6 more to do. It has been extremely hot here. Today 103!!! and of course our AC went out on us last night sometime. So Dennis will look at it when he gets home. So far it's ok in here. It went out a few weeks ago and he found a bare wire where a chipmonk must have gone in and eaten. After he put some electrical tape on it it was ok... till now.

Jean... your photos are... wonderful.. awesome... and fun to look at. Thank you. Hope Don and the pups are ok.

Barbara...
any more news on the house? I will be going to the cabin on Sunday for the week.. me and the dogs. I will go check out some new modular homes. we will probalby go that route... knock the cabin down and put up a new modular. Sometime in the future. The cabin is just about 900 sq. ft. Dennis and I agree we need something bigger up there if we are to retire there... or we will kill each other in that small space.

Bev...
if I remember right... did you say you do not have air condition? I might be wrong. Is it still hot there? We are in need of rain too. Hope you are well.

Carolyn.. love the doggies! so cute Animals are the best!

Sara...another baby! sure hope it will be a girl this time. girls are so much fun to shop for.

Cecilia... Fantastic Job! you and your family must be so very proud of you!! yes.. now you can take some time to relax... maybe?

Cherie... you been getting some rain right? we have been so much hotter than you!!!

Donna... hope all is well.... Thank God the fires are under control and hopfully out by now. What an aweful shame for all those people.

I have not posted since we came back fromthe cabin about our tree trimming. We had rented that cherry picker. OMG it was soooo HOT. 98-100 degrees. and Sun! HOT SUN! we trimmed for 2 days then cleaned the 3rd day. We kind of kept up with the cleaning as we trimmed so the 3 rd day wasn;t real bad. I'm not sure if I put the pics into the computer yet. if I did I will post a few now... if not you will have to wait till I get them out of my camera!

Have a great day everyone... keep cool!

Finally got a good photo of a Red Headed Woodpecker!!!!
