Hoonah, Alaska, 7-4-12. Hoonah, population about 700 on Chichagof Island is the largest Tlingit village in Alaska. Last here is 2010 to photograph brown bears. This visit is to look for eagles and any other wildlife in the downtown area. Click all photos to enlarge.

A resident told us that the eagles built this nest during the winter. Appears that there may be eggs or small eaglet(s) inside nest.

Pigeon Guillemots, I believe, in Port Frederick Bay. I am basing my identification on the dark bar across the white wing patch and bright red feet visible in some photos.

Anchorage, Alaska, 7-6-12. Last visit in 2000. Spent most of the day hiking on some urban trails in the downtown area. Will post photos later in the Northwest trails thread. Following photos of two eagles on dead tree in Cook Inlet at low tide viewed from Captain Cook Monument in Resolution Park,
