California Sea Lions in the Columbia River: "Restoring balance between predators and salmon"

"...In March 2008, fish and wildlife agencies in Washington, Oregon and Idaho received federal authorization to remove California sea lions that have been observed preying on salmon and steelhead below Bonneville Dam. That authorization allows wildlife managers to use lethal measures to remove those sea lions, although the states’ first priority has been to relocate them to zoos and aquariums. ...."

To all hikers, campers, and anyone who loves the wild, I strongly recommend taking wilderness first aid courses. I have seen way too much horrible accidents in the wilderness and horrible outcomes due to lack of education in first aid and things alike. Slipstream first aid has some excellent courses for anyone. Yeah A grey whale has decided to camp out in Vancouver's False Creek after not being seen for a 100 years the grey whale is back and has spent two days in False Creek performing for the whale watchers.

We recently returned from a holiday at the Grand Palladium Resort, Mayan Riviera, Yucatan, Mexico. The resort was designed to leave much of the natural mangrove forests and vegetation in place, with trails through the property and interesting wildlife to see.
