I did not see the yellow bird fly so I cannot help you there. I was lucky to get photo as bird only was present a couple of seconds. Photo taken with telephoto. In fact, I could not observe the yellowish coloring until photo was blown up on computer. As always thanks for your help. -- Ed

I would appreciate any help in identifying this very small bird seen on the coast of BC this month. It is slightly larger than a humming bird, fatter, with wings that move very fast, allowing it to hover like a humming bird. I've spotted it twice, with a number of others, hovering and darting very fast. The picture is not great because it was an overcast day and the bird is hovering with rapid wing motion in a darkened treed area. I'm leaning toward a ruby-crowned kinglet but am not sure.

Not sure of the identity of these shorebirds in Drayton Harbor in Blaine, Wash. At first I thought they might be some type of a Plover, Dowitcher or even a Yellowlegs, albeit the legs may be covered by eel grass as they forged along the shoreline. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ed I don't know for certain which one it is, but in the pictures I found, it's bill was longer than like the grey plovers; but it did sort of look like a lesser yellowlegs, ~

I just put some shots of a pair of these birds, on backyard critters of what I think is a raptor, the green heron, not certain, but has coloring like a juvenile
