Nest exchange - with the Iris in bloom and both on the nest, sunlight making their feathers opalescent in color - a very lovely image

Nest exchange. One loon swam by the front (lake side) of the nest and came around out of camera range and climbed up on the raft. Stayed there for a minute or two before the brooding loon decided to leave
Not as pretty an image without the sun light to bring out the colors

News from the Minnesota Bound Live Loon Cam site is that Larry said we could have a hatch as soon as today.
I really hope I'm home watching the cam when it happens.

Here's an interesting move by the adult. She was up to check the eggs but instead of settling down with the eggs in front of her she backed up over the eggs.

Adult went off for a swim.
Both eggs look to be still intact with no pips visible.

Eggs were visible a while ago. No signs of cracks that I could see
Thunder and wind brought the mate into check on status of partner and maybe eggs. They stayed like this for a couple of minutes. Seem to be communicating although I didn't hear anything
