Ma and Pa seen and accounted for yesterday. They did not, however, visit the beach when I was there. Tides are lower in the afternoon now so I hope to visit more often and catch some beach visits where I am allowed to take and post pix. In the meantime, local reports are they ate a rabbit at the new nest recently as evidenced by rabbit parts at the base of the nest tree. New nest is quite `substantially complete`. All is well.

Thanks for the Update(s) Elle! You really don't know how much I and everyone appreciate them! Since you and a few other's know where this new nest is, could you possibly tell us if the new nest is in a "live" tree, or in a dead tree like the previous nest?
Glad Ma and Pa are eating...even if they're eating rabbitsTitter and the new nest is basically complete! Hope to make a trip to the area just after Christmasfingers crossed

Hi Debbie/tuckerfan. And thanks for your and other's continued interest in Ma and Pa Sidney, too, despite the fact we have no cam there this year.
The new nest is in a very healthy live tree nestled in a small grove of other very live trees.:thumrht:
The farmers of the property where the new nest is situated are long time personal acquaintances and not only allow me to visit the property and the nest site but keep me
up to date with Ma and Pa's activities. I am so personally grateful for that and by extension we can all be so thankful for that too!

It's nice to know the nest is in a healthy tree and maybe there will be a bit more shade for the eaglets in the summer! Looking forward to your updates Elle! Thanks for the PM Kay!

You are welcome Debbie. There is a canopy over the nest and also lots of branches for the eaglets too. It is a vast improvement over the previous nest.

I went to Pat Bay this afternoon but did not see Ma or Pa anywhere, unless they were both down in their nest. I suspect they might have been out fishing, or chowing down on dead salmon at Goldstream. This is not a good time of the year to see the nest in the afternoon because the sun is so low and almost behind the nest, causing a lot of glare, even with sun glasses on.

I went to Pat Bay today and when I arrived at the Pat Bay Trading Post both Ma & Pa were perched in the same 2 trees they were in the last time I saw them there. As I was talking to the traffic flag person, all of a sudden the seagulls flew off over Pat Bay; I looked up and saw both Ma & Pa flying out over Pat Bay towards the north end. When I drove up the road Pa was perched in the beach tree and a short while later he flew to the south field tree on the old nest property, before flying off towards the Pat Bay Trading Post. I found Ma down the road perched in the oak tree across from the church. She was quite content to sit there in the lovely sunshine preening until a red-tailed hawk flew towards the tree. Ma started squawking and after a few fly-bys by the hawk, Ma flew off towards the north end of Pat Bay. I could hear the 2 of them calling back and forth to each other. When I left the area they were both back in the same trees by the Pat Bay Trading Post, where they were when I arrived. The fellow who was the flag person said there were young ones in the area yesterdayOh My I'll post some photos later after dinner.
