|Description:||Naomi Klein speaks out against tankers in Vancouver
Through out the campaign to stop the Keystone XL pipeline one of the loudest voices against the project was Canadian author and activist Naomi Klein. Which is why we are very excited to announce that on Thursday December 1st at 7pm (doors at 6:30), Naomi will be at the Rio Theater (at Broadway and Commercial Dr.) to speak about the threat that Tankers and Tarsands pipelines pose to us here and BC and the climate.
December first is an important day because it's the one year anniversary of the Save the Fraser declaration. This powerful statement has already been signed by 61 first nations chiefs. We will be honored to have representatives of Yinka Dene Alliance in attendance to talk about the declaration and the campaign to stop the Enbridge pipeline and tankers off our coast. Tanker Free BC founder Rex Weyler will also there to talk about the Kinder Morgan and tankers in the Burrard inlet. Finally Melina Laboucon-Massimo from Greenpeace will share her perspective on the other end of the pipes, the tar sands in Alberta.
*Doors Open 6:30pm
