Washed-up Oil Deposits Kill Seabirds in Yorkshire UK

Up to 15 seabirds have died and dozens more have been found covered in oil after deposits washed up on Yorkshire beaches. The deposits were brought ashore by strong winds on Sunday afternoon. Following a clean-up operation between Scarborough and Speeton, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust said the oil seemed to have broken up and dispersed. It said about 50 birds in total, mostly black-headed gulls, had been affected.
