There’s a new male in Liberty’s life and now he has a name.

After three days of online voting, the newest half of Redding’s famous bald eagle pair has been named Spirit.

The name was chosen by Redding.com readers and Record Searchlight Facebook followers in a 72-hour poll on both sites. Voting ended at noon today. Spirit received 352 votes, barely squeaking by Justice, which earned 344 votes.
