UWGB Police Officer Rescues Injured Bald Eagle

A UW-Green Bay public safety officer had a different kind of Friday night experience last week.

When officer Nick Dennis saw a bald eagle on a campus trail, he knew something wasn't right.

"When birds of prey are injured, they are really docile," explained Officer Dennis.

He knows that because he used to work for animal control. That's why officers who spotted the bird called him to take a look.

"Officer Decker went to the base of the tree and shook it, and the eagle glided down to right here and we ended up capturing it," said Officer Dennis.
