Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival’s Main Event Weekend Approaching


The Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival’s Main Event Weekend is quickly approaching.
The Festival will have all the line up of events that you have all grown to expect from this annual celebration of the Bald Eagle and the Harrison River Region.
Highlights for Nov 17/18 2012:
Take part in Harrison’s Hot Spots Button Promotion. Up to 5 chances to win great prizes and all you do is buy a gorgeous souvenir button to take part. (buttons available at all noted Hot Spots)
Mission Info Centre: located at 34033 Lougheed Hwy will be open to help you navigate the festival and is the first Hot Spot along the route.
Leq’a:mel Hall Site #1: This year will see a record number of exhibitors on site: wildlife displays, environmental organizations, “green” businesses and an opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done as many local artisans will be selling their wares. Hot Spot
Tapadera Site # 2: David Hancock will be speaking on eagles at 1 PM both Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to check out the line up of expert speakers in the “Clubhouse” on site. Topics include, the bald eagle, the salmon in our rivers, backyard birding and wildlife rehabilitation.
Kilby Historic Site # 6: The Vancouver Zoo will be on site with their raptors display which includes a blind eagle this year. Stop in to hear his story. Hot Spot
Inch Creek Hatchery Site #7: Our native salmon and their challenges have been in the news a lot lately. Visit the hatchery to see how they are hard at work trying to rebuild the stocks AND view the 2 adult sturgeons on site Hot Spot
Sts’Ailes Site # 8: On Saturday Only – a full day of First Nation’s experiences and activities including a delicious salmon BBQ Hot Spot
Also: Guided Walks, Jet boat tours, Interpreters at the land based viewing at Eagle Point and Pretty Estates Resort.

Can't make the main weekend? There's More!!
Although all the individual sites are not available after the Main Event weekend there will still be a lot to do as each weekend has eagle themed events occurring.
