PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Eaglets in Sevier County are recovering after their nest was destroyed by a severe storm.

According to the American Eagle Foundation, the two birds fell 75 ft onto the ground last Monday, they were found shortly after and taken into protection.

"We got a report that the nest had blown down I called a couple other stuff, we all met out there and we were able to find both birds within an hour," said Al Cecere, Founder & President of the American Eagle Foundation.

One eaglet had minor injuries, the other was severely hurt and now has a cast around his wing. Cecere says the birds will remain under the foundations care, and hopes both will be able to fly.
