A young bald eagle met a tragic end in Shelburne early last month.
On the morning of Sept. 6, after post-tropical storm Hermine moved through, a one-year-old juvenile bald eagle was found dead, lying atop a power pole at the Shelburne Marine Terminal. The most likely cause of death was electrocution.
It was a sad end for the young eagle, whose presence at the wharf had been delighting workers and visitors alike.
