Lucky eagle finds help at rehab centre

Last summer, Beth and Urs Schupbach, of Wildlife Raptor Rehabilitation Centre, received a phone call regarding an eagle down on McLeese Lake.

They headed out there and initiated a search, walking up and down the hills on the east side of the lake looking for the eagle.

After failing to locate the bird and being chased by an over-protective dog, they returned to their vehicle to regroup and rethink. The decision was made to start knocking on people’s doors on the west side of the lake to see if anyone had spotted this bird. After a few negative answers, one kind gentleman offered to take Beth and Urs in his boat, and they headed up the lake on the side he had been reported on
