HENDRY COUNTY: Bald eagles are a symbol of our nation's freedom and a number of them came close to losing their nest because of illegal land clearing.


 


Three bald eagles, along with an unknown number of little eaglets, call a nest in Hendry County home.

But recently, they've had company from an unwanted guest. A developer has illegally cleared land within 50 feet of the active eagle's nest - breaking both state and federal laws.
